Salvaged Time For Art Class

Hanging out at the beach throwing rocks and swimming, going for a hike, or heading out for a ride in a kayak are perfectly legitimate things for kids to do at Lake Tahoe in the summer. But eventually your little urchins might get sunburned or bored, or perhaps you just need a break. That’s when it might be time for them to slow down and make some art. A great place to do so is Salvaged.

Salvaged is an artisan based co-op studio and boutique started by local artists Renee Koijane and Alissa Morganti. In the shop they have an eclectic mix of art and repurposed works available for sale. Salvaged! also serves as a fun gathering place for meetings or parties, and they schedule an interesting mix of art classes for children. This month you will find the following offerings:
July 7 and July 14-Advanced Art Sessions for those 12 and older with drawing and watercolor painting.

July 6 and July 14-Fairy Art! Fairy houses, wings and wands. Six to ten year olds.

July 8 and July 15-Alien Art-Aliens, planets, glow in the dark paints.

July 28 and July 29th-Graffiti Art. Using spray paint of course. Eleven years old and up.

They also specialize in children’s parties with an art focus, and the space can be used for baby showers, book club meetings or anything else that strikes your fancy.

Salvaged is located at 585 West Lake Blvd.,about a mile down the west shore from downtown Tahoe City. For information on classes and pricing contact [email protected], call 530-583-1025 or visit salvagedtahoe.com
