The Cobblestone and Hauserman Rental Group’s 50th Anniversary Party on June 25th was a great success. The front parking lot of the Cobblestone was closed and became party central. There were games for children and adults, food and drink, and the opportunity to mingle with folks who had been a part of the Cobblestone and Hauserman Rental Group world over the past fifty years. It was also a Hauserman Family Reunion with over 30 family members representing four generations including Joan Hauserman, who with her now late husband Dan Hauserman, Sr. built the Cobblestone.
The theme for the event was “The 1960’s” and the highlight in the costume categories were certainly Cobblestone Manager Monica Grigoleit and her sister from Hauserman Rental Group, Susan Grigoleit. Not only did they have the best costumes, but they both worked their butts off doing an awesome job organizing the event.
Tacos and salads and other delicious treats prepared by Big Blue Q were available, and both wine and beer donated by the Cobblestone’s own Tahoe Mountain Brewery Company was on tap. For those who needed a bit of a pick me up, Coffee Connection was pouring the coffee.
Music was provided by Sheldon Felich and Randy Blake who have been playing together around Tahoe for over 40 years. In fact, I still remember them rocking it out for my North Tahoe High School senior class party.
The Lake Tahoe Dance Collective was selling cupcakes and had a canine kissing booth as a fundraiser for this important non-profit organization, and a raffle was held as well with proceeds going to the Dance Collective.
There were lots of fun distractions including The Yoga Room’s Jenny Minnes providing a henna tattoo booth, Lather and Fizz’s Twister game, the Traveling Photo Booth giving everyone a chance to mug for free photos, and free balloon characters created by Inspired Balloons.
While the kids excelled at dunking for apples, with the winner taking home a prize for grabbing an apple in less then two seconds, the adults were the champions in the water ballon tossing contest. The winning teams were able to successfully toss and not break a balloon almost all the way across the Cobblestone parking lot.
In the end, the real highlight was having the opportunity to meet and greet with a lot of family and friends who are proud to see this little shopping center honored for it’s place in our town. Congrats to The Cobblestone and Hauserman Rental Group!
