The house was great for our group. It had plenty of room for 5 adults, 2 young adults and 2 kids. It was very cozy and homey and needs were comfortable. The only issues were the kitchen outlet to the left of the sink would trip the electricity if coffee maker was plugged in and the coffee maker needs to be replaced. We could not get it to produce any strength of coffee as the water appeared to drain too fast. The sliding door in the bunk bed room did not lock and we had to use a piece of wood to prevent it from being opened. Overall, nothing major to ruin our trip. Just minor inconveniences.

We had a good time despite the bad weather.

The experience was good. Although we couldn't go out as planned for hiking, skiing, and visiting local restaurants, we has a good time stayed inside to play games, watch a few movies, and cook a few meals. The biggest challenge we have at this location is parking. Because we parked two cars on the driveway, the snow blocked the access due to the snow plow pushed the hard snow/ice to block the driveway behind the cars. We have to use a shovel to clear the snow but the shovel available is a low quality one. It could clear the powder snow but not the harden snow/ice pushed onto the driveway from street plowing. Luckily a neighbor let us borrow two good shovels. Overall, we couldn't ski and go out but we had a good time working together to clear the snow from the front of the house, around the cars, and on the driveway. A suggestion is to have two good shovels available so guests can efficiently clear the snow.

Great experience and overall value!

This is an awesome house for family or multiple couples gathering. Plenty of privacy with bedrooms spread out/on different floors with nice group zones: living/dining area, outdoor deck is spacious and well protected, a separate "play" room where kids could play or for work space, etc.
Kitchen amenities exceeded our expectations--a whole pantry full of various appliances, spices, etc. Friendly neighborhood too, with easy parking and access to town and lake. Would rent again for sure!

The property was mostly great - large, well stocked, quiet. It would have been a 5 star review, except that most of the mattresses were substandard quality and way too soft. We had to change beds in the middle of night to find a suitable bed (the master br and the 2 double beds on the 3rd story had good mattresses). Also the bunk bed was rather unstable. The heat in the house is uneven, but that is well compensated by plenty of space heaters. The kitchen is small, but well stocked and very easy to work in for one person.

I had rented a house for a group for a wedding taking place in Tahoe City and we could not have been more pleased with the house - and more importantly, the customer service of Hauserman Rental Group. Between cancellations due to COVID during summer 2020 and then re-booking this year, they were nothing but fantastic and extremely helpful. I would highly recommend both the Woodland Retreat, as well as Hauserman, at any time again

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home which is in pristine shape. It easily and comfortably accommodated two families of 9 people. There are 2 living rooms one by the kitchen and one by the downstairs bedrooms allowing some kids to study while the rest socialized. It has all the amenities that one would hope for and all rooms, linen, towels, kitchen, plates, cutlery were all squeaky clean. The beds and mattresses were in very good shape which meant good nights of sleep. Be aware that there 4 levels to this house so those sleeping in the 4th level bedrooms better be in good shape to climb the flights of stairs. the house is located in a quiet cul-de-sac with easy street parking (in case you have more than the 2 cars that can be fit in the driveway. It is close to Squaw resorts where we went skiing.

Great 3 Family Place

We’ve been to this wonderful home near Tahoe City several times. The most recent was New Years week of 2016. It’s a great place for 2 families with kids and a pair of grandparents. There are stairs so you will have to negotiate two flights to the main area and three if you stay up in the loft area. What’s great about the place is that there are three full bathrooms, one on each floor, which is why three sets of families easily fits into the place. We had two adults and three children on the first floor above the garage level, grandparents on the second which is the main living area with a well equipped kitchen, dining and living room, and two adults and two children up in the loft area. There is a nice laundry room on the first floor too and a second half bathroom which can come in handy. There’s also a great second family room on this first level. We’ve only stayed here in the winter time and it is very convenient if you like to go skiing as Homewood Ski area is down the road and both Squaw and Alpine are within 15 minutes but keep in mind that skier traffic is heavy near the resorts and through Tahoe City in the morning and late afternoon. Shopping for food is very convenient as you’re just 2 miles from Tahoe City which has a Safeway and a Save Mart. The house is next to a wooded area and Woodland Way dead ends at the house so there is very little traffic making this a very quiet area to stay in. The house has a great open deck on the second floor accessed from the living room which makes it a lot of fun to shovel off the snow here and the grandkids can then play with the snow and have a great time with very little effort. The central air works very well and we were always comfortable in the house. They have extra room heaters too to help keep everywhere nice and cozy. There’s lots of seating in the living room area and a very nice TV to watch. They also have TV’s on all levels making it easy to distribute the group so you don’t feel like you’re tripping over one another. The stairs going up the loft is pretty open so you will have to watch a little toddler carefully. The road in winter is well maintained but you do have to park all vehicles in the driveway as otherwise they can’t plow the road if it snows. We were able to park three large ones (van, suv and Ram 2500 truck) off of the street with a little planning. As mentioned it’s secluded but this also makes the views from the deck and windows extremely scenic and if you love nature, you’ll love this place.

What a perfect cabin and view. When the sun comes up you can just see the lake through the trees. We were there over Christmas and New Years with my parents. They found the stairs difficult but were on the main living area so never had to use them other than arrival and departure. (They are in their 80's) Our two teens had plenty of space to escape us. Another couple joined for a few days after Christmas with 3 teens as well. The kids loved the lower level to play poker and card games. Everything was clean and ready for our arrival. The beds were comfy and the house warm. We cooked nearly all our meals in and the BBQ grill is amazing. Only issue we had was that we set the fire alarm off many times if we opened the door while the BBQ was on. It is quite sensitive but probably should. i will book this property again. We had an amazing family ski adventure.

This cabin was perfect for our stay in Tahoe! It is very close to Squaw, Alpine, and Homewood, which was perfect for our stay. There were three couples on our trip, and we all had plenty of room to relax after our long days of skiing. We cooked some meals there and used the BBQ, which was great on the patio where you can see the lake peaking through the trees. For the meals we did not cook, we were close to all the restaurants in Tahoe City. Would definitely recommend this cabin for anyone looking to stay in Tahoe.

A beautiful spacious property that can fit several families. 2 balconies that look into the woods. My family enjoyed this residence to full capacity. The only thing hard to deal with is the fact that there are 3 sets of stairs.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was beautiful, remodeled with style and care. All the essentials were there- In the kitchen, in the pantry, the new sponges in the kitchen, new tupperware sets, enough towels, shampoos/ soaps... well managed such that there is a consistent and manageable amount. Felt like a managed property. We felt that the common areas were too small for a party of our size. We luckily broght a small Costco kids table with 4 folding chairs so all kids/ adults could eat at the same time. ( you may want to consider having one available for other guests with kids ) as the dining table limits you to 6. ( summer time when terrace can be used this is likely not an issue). We got warning tickets about parking third car in front of property on the cul de sac - perhaps we did not read that garage wasnt available and the driveway barely for two cars. Bathroom on dining room level needs to have screws on ceiling covered- they are on the ceiling but completely exposed. Otherwise the bedrooms were great, linen plentiful, location, views amazing. I am telling everyone about the call you all made a week ahead to offer to have groceries or other items needed for kids ready for us. Talk about above and beyond!! We had a great time!!

The location is great. The beds are comfortable. No crazy parties around here. It's close enough to downtown to walk (Rental Office Note: Tahoe City is just under 2 miles from the house). There were enough beds and chairs.

We enjoyed the home very much.

We enjoyed the home very much. We had a full group, but at no time felt crowded. There was plenty of room for gathering and privacy as well. I appreciated the well appointed kitchen and pantry. Also the BBQ worked very well. At one point during our stay the electricity went out, and it took me 40 minutes to get a response from the management team. I was a bit frustrated that there seemed to be many phone numbers to call between the e-mails and in-house information, and no way to leave a voicemail on any of them. Wi-Fi worked fine, but we could not figure out the upstairs bedroom TV. Not a big deal though because we really didn't need it. The main level TV seemed to work fine, but once again we didn't really pay much attention to it. We did use it for background music, and that worked fine. Also the proximity to our son's wedding venue could not be better (Granlibakkin). Very comfortable beds and everything seemed nicely clean. Everyone enjoyed it that's for sure! Thanks so much!
