Rockwood is a lovely and unique Tahoe home that will give you a taste of California's rich history. Step out onto the large deck and enjoy the serenity of the mountains and a filtered lake view in a lovely neighborhood. With special, old western artifacts throughout, this themed home provides a cozy stay any time of year! Upgraded kitchen features gourmet, commercial style "Wolfe" gas range under vaulted ceiling and plenty of counter space for those who like to cook. Living area boasts a large wood burning stove, plenty of plush seating, a new, internet ready 50" Sony 3D HDTV, and reading/sitting nook under the stairs.

Full bath and bedroom with Queen bed on entry level. 2 Single beds in loft upstairs, 3/4 bath, and back master bedroom with King and small TV plus storybook window alcove.

Great grassy area for the kids, and propane BBQ for the chef! Includes use of Homeowner's Association Lakeside Picnic area and shared pier for loading & unloading your boat. CFIA beach is about a half mile from the home.

Please note, this home is on a hill, so All Wheel Drive/4WD/chains are highly recommended in the winter!

Must be at least 25 years old to rent.

Prior approval is required to bring more than one dog to any dog-friendly property. All dogs must be at least one year old and must not be left unattended at the property unless crate trained. No pets other than dogs are allowed at any of our pet-friendly properties (no cats, birds, ferrets, etc.).

*PLEASE NOTE: If you are bringing a dog to our dog friendly property there is an additional fee of $100+tax per dog.

Our properties do not have air conditioning.

BBQs are not provided during winter months (November to Memorial Day)

What an interesting cabin in the woods! A great location with a view of the lake, when visibility is good :) We would definitely stay here again! We were here in the winter and had a lot of snow! Would love to know the story of all the decor! The management company communication is great!

Rockwood is a charming and classic Tahoe cabin that's managed to keep up fairly well with modern times. Great location, circular driveway a plus, and wonderful outdoor deck. Our only suggestion is to update the slightly rickety wooden deck furniture to something that's easier on the spine - it's not comfortable for long sits - some outdoor wicker with a little give would be ideal. We hope that happens before our return visit, as we would definitely choose Rockwood again!

We stayed at the Rockwood House in Cedar Flat. We have rented this house for one week every summer. Each year we notice some upgrade from the previous summer. The owners take care of their house.
We did have a pipe burst under the house that was associated with the irrigation system. Hauserman Rentals responded immediately and took care of the issue.

We stayed here for July 4th weekend and it is a perfectly located cabin. You are far enough from the crowds, yet can pop into town easily and on a whim! We went to Alpine, hiked around secret cove, and walked around Kings Beach. Clean, tidy, communicative host.

This place was terrific, as was the team from Hauserman.

It is up a quiet, long, skinny road from the lake... but still incredibly close.

It was SUPER cute inside, with an awesome kitchen, plenty of room for a medium-sized group, it's dog friendly (THANK YOU FROM BOMBAY) and a crackling fireplace.

We stayed for four days, and my wife (who is EXTREMELY picky) said "This is one of the best places we've ever rented."

Be aware that the driveway is both long and steep, but that's where Hauserman stepped in -- and brought sand to us in a jiffy... and up we went.

This is our 2nd time staying at Rockwood. We really like the house, the location and the quirky/eclectic nature of the home. It is comfortable, well stocked in the kitchen with everything you could need. Beds are comfortable. Furniture is older but cozy. House is clean and welcoming.The heat went out during our stay - but the rental company was quick to respond and address the problem.We will happily return!

We are just finishing up our stay at the Rockwood house, and wanted to give you a little (POSITIVE!) feedback.In short, the place was just about perfect. We loved the location, the house itself, the fireplace, the fact that it's pet friendly (WOOOOT!) and doesn't demand $700 a night. My wife is extremely picky, and she positively LOVED it. Special props go to BEN, who helped us beautifully with two small problems (yes, the olympic ski-jump driveway that thwarted a 4Runner with snow tires, and the cursed front-door lock). On that note, on day#3, we THINK we now understand the quirky (shall we say "demonic?") lock, but the next people will not... and it should certainly be replaced. You're going to get a LOT of calls on that. But truly, we had a blast. Thanks for being so responsive to our needs, and for managing such an awesome property. We will certainly be back. NOTE: We have to be back in the City early tomorrow, so we are going to be leaving at (long sigh) 5:30AM. You can tell your cleaning crew to sequence Rockwood first on their list. Thanks for everything.

What a cute and comfortable home! Very warm and welcoming and old timey. Kitchen well stocked with any essentials, furniture older, but very comfortable, beds were great and decor was heirloom mountain cabin. Rooms are small, but felt cozy rather than cramped. Snow outside was up to the 2nd story...made for dramatic views as well as a feeling of warm coziness inside. You can see the lake a bit through the trees - it was beautiful. Excellent communication with rental company. Plenty of house information available for TV, internet etc. We will happily return. Thank you for a terrific rental.

The moment we arrived I knew we had found a gem. My husband and I have been to Tahoe several times at different times of the year. This time we came for 12 days. Our arrival to Tahoe was delayed due to a blizzard. But when we arrived at the house the driveway had been plowed and stairs to house shoveled. It snowed several times during our stay. We never had trouble getting out of the neighborhood- we had studded snow tires and awd. Otherwise, no way to navigate the roads in the neighborhood. House is quaint. Feels like “real Tahoe”. Beds are super comfortable. Kitchen had anything I needed. Washer and dryer are small. Best part of the experience was working with Hauserman. From start to finish they were the best. We’ve rented all over the world—Hauserman is by far the top of the list. We will be back, hopefully for many years.

This was my second time staying at Rockwood. Believe it or not, my grandparents built this cabin! It’s a special place to me, for obvious reasons. All that said, the place was tidy upon arrival and my week there couldn’t have been better. I met a very nice neighbor and shared some old photos of the place and stories, a bottle of wine on the deck. The HOA pier is a peaceful place to lay out and get some sun. Internet is strong. Kitchen is well stocked with gadgets and cookware. Water pressure is great. An AppleTV or streaming device of that nature could be a nice addition in the future. Including basic toiletries (bath soap, shampoo, conditioner) would also be great.

We enjoy staying at the more "old tahoe" style homes, (even if the decor might be tougher to clean than more modern homes) and enjoyed the coziness of Rockwood. It is nice to have sufficient seating especially at the indoor and outdoor tables and enjoyed the deck with lounge chairs and grill. Master bed is a very comfortable proper King-sized bed. We popped down to the rather nice HOA beach which has a few tables (no grills or parking...but fairly easy to walk to). We Will absolutely consider it for our future trips, thank you for having it on the rental market.

Overall, our stay was good for a last minute trip. This place is cozy. Very native/country style. It’s good if you like most lighting made up of lamps. The living room big windows are bare. The same for the kitchen. Not fond of spiders, there was quite a few spider webs when we got there. We arrived late evening so we had access to the lock box to get into the property. Good place to relax. Only downstairs tv has access to cable.

The house was really clean, a few cobwebs hidden behind doors but otherwise perfect. Outside porch was covered with a thick layer of pollen, the furniture lacked cushions, and the barbecue was broken. I called your office and all of this was taken care of in a matter of hours. The internet also failed during our stay, but once again, you handled it quickly. The property is an older Tahoe house and I think you need to watch it more carefully simply because things malfunction or break. Also, the owners could really put a little more attention into repairs, but it is what it is. I prefer old Tahoe homes so I will return to this property again. It would be good to have a couple more desk top fans to aid in cooling on warm nights.

This house is really special. It is truly someone's home, not just a rental house filled with cast-off stuff. Every detail is thoughtful, with beautiful native american artifacts, cowboy whimsy, artful family photos, and the coziest master bed and bedroom ever. Not a fancy place, but quality at every turn. Definitely cozy - in a good way. My husband and I really like a nice vacation rental, and it was so nice to find a smaller home (no kids with us this time) that was as high quality as what you usually have to rent a larger home to find. We will be back!

Perfect home for our needs. We choose to come to Tahoe at the height of tourism. This home offers a refuge. It is a peaceful, older Tahoe home. The rental, as other have mentioned, has a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and plenty of quaintness. The only modernity missing is dependable internet. Electrical outlets are sparse, so bring a power strip!

The Wifi information on your handouts was outdated. We had some issues with the DVD player and the sill plate on the kitchen door being loose. Besides these minor things, it was a great house. Really, Really enjoyed our time there.

I love this home but I’m finding the beds to be less comfortable. Especially the master bedroom on top floor. Also kept getting “robo” calls on phone every day. I also called about whether the gas grill was safe to use but didn’t hear back. We found a note saying don’t use the grill. I might have missed a call back but no voice mail was left. Otherwise no complaints. I love the location of this place and especially enjoy the deck for relaxing.
