Escape to this well-appointed home and enjoy the serenity of the woods and proximity to downtown Tahoe City -- less than 2 miles!

Located in the Tahoe Woods neighborhood of Lake Tahoe’s west shore, Edelweiss Escape has an open wooded yard in the back with a lovely fire-pit and a nice big front deck with a table, brand new propane Weber barbecue and spacious hot tub overlooking the neighborhood filled with trees and a sliver of a mountain peak view. It’s a wonderful family home with plenty of room for outdoor activities!

Drive up to this tri-story home with a spacious 3 car driveway and large 2-car garage with a high-voltage electric vehicle (EV) outlet. There is also a ping pong table available for some fun and games! Step up the exterior stairs, or through the garage into the entry and up the stairs to the main level of the home. The main level opens up to a cozy living area with a nice wood burning fireplace insert, flat screen TV with cable and DVD, and piano for those musicians! Also on this level, dining area with picnic-bench-style table for 8, and newly remodeled kitchen with gas cooking appliances. Sliding door off dining area opens to a lovely deck with a large hot tub and propane grill (grill available in summer only).

This level also includes an updated full bathroom and two bedrooms. One bedroom boasts a California King bed, the other includes a bunk bed with a Twin mattress on top and Double bed below. Laundry room just off the living area includes a back door with steps leading to the woods behind the home.

Walk upstairs to two more bedrooms and another updated full bathroom. Bedroom to the left is great for kids with two Twin beds and a Twin-size sofa bed, room to play, and windows facing the woods. The bedroom to the right is spacious with a large California King bed and views of the neighborhood as well as a glimpse of mountain peaks.

This house is ideally located close to Tahoe City. A trail head leading to Paige Meadows or into Tahoe City is just steps away from the property. Sled, hike, bike, or cross-country ski just steps from your door. Come enjoy all that Edelweiss Escape has to offer!

Must be at least 25 years old to rent.

Prior approval is required to bring more than one dog to any dog-friendly property. All dogs must be at least one year old and must not be left unattended at the property unless crate trained. No pets other than dogs are allowed at any of our pet-friendly properties (no cats, birds, ferrets, etc.).

*PLEASE NOTE: If you are bringing a dog to our dog friendly property there is an additional fee of $100+tax per dog.

Our properties do not have air conditioning.

Please note that this property has a noise devise that monitors excessively loud noises per county compliance.

We rented this home for 6 weeks. 4 bed/2 full bath, kitchen is nicely appointed with easy ‘entertaining’ & a large picnic style DR table that has a slider to the second floor porch w/hot tub & ‘views of Lake Tahoe thru the trees. It sits on the hill but not too difficult to drive up the road as long as 4 wheel drive. Very quiet & peaceful.
The home is rustic & wood paneling thruout (is dark at times). 2 car garage w/direct home access. Hot water, WiFi work great, never any outage nor shortage.
Cabin houses 8 guests - 2 king, 1 twin, 1 bunk - with lower bunk a queen. The LR is tight for more than 4 guests, we brought up porch chairs to accommodate seating. Beds - pillows are new (with pillow case liners!!) great support & sturdy. Ample linens for our 6 week stay. W/D in house (washer needs balancing) .
Kitchen has a a lot of cooking items (cooking trays need to be replaced) we grilled a few times. Home has a snowblower!! And a wood fireplace insert that works great.
We were quite satisfied w/the home - entering from garage to a vestibule & then up a flight of stairs keeps all the dirty boots off the living floor. We purchased a remnant to keep the lower entry tile floor cleaner. The home fit our needs (we were one full bath short when 8 adults in home), furniture is a little dated & sparse in LR, & cleanliness is a 4. However, Hauserman is quite responsive to contact rather an owner.

We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the home. The location is great, beds comfortable, and the home was clean and well kept. There were toys for the kids and we enjoyed spending time on the deck and in the hot tub. Great hiking within walking distance, too.

We recently stayed at the Edlewiess Escape during the March 2023 snowstorms for a family ski trip. The house was perfect, everyone got their own bedroom and the two baths worked great for the 8 of us. There was plenty of room and we never felt crowded. We were not able to ski several days as the resorts were closed due to weather, but we had a great time playing games, hot tubbing, sledding and stayed warm with the fireplace. The kitchen and eating space worked out great for all our many family meals. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything you needed. The driveway was plowed most days and the roads were drivable to the house. The location was close to town and the ski resorts. It was an epic adventure and the house was a big part of our fun trip!

Loved this home! It had the feeling of a cozy homey cabin in the Alps - but also had so many nice modern updates/conveniences and plenty of space! Clean, comfortable, and close to trails and just a 15 minute drive to Alpine Meadows Base Area. The layout was simple and perfect for two families of three (or four) in my opinion! We were just one family of three and only used two bedrooms. The surrounding community is very friendly, too. Another GREAT Experience with Hauserman.

This property exceeded all of my expectations! It was cozy and homey - with a “cabin” feel... but still very spacious and complete with all the modern conveniences one could hope for! The neighborhood is lovely, very peaceful and the people we met were all extremely friendly.
I loved the simple lay out of two bedrooms and a bath on the main floor and two bedrooms and a bath on the second floor. This is perfect for two small families in my opinion. They actually had king sized beds which was amazing! Firm mattresses (a bit too firm for me - but I slept well!).
Just a 15 minute drive to the Alpine Meadows base area!
Super kid friendly place - that even had some great games/toys. Our daughter built the play mobile volcano.
Would totally recommend this home. Wonderful value and excellent stay. Thank you to the owners and thank you to Hauserman for another fantastic visit!

Good place for a family with dogs! Well appointed, great location in Tahoe City. Near trails, walking/riding path, and coffee shop. Everything we needed and cozy. The main floor layout is smaller than it looks in the photos. The whole house is rather dimly lit. Well cleaned but the living room couches/ chairs need a deep clean. The jacuzzi was a bit cloudy. Overall it was a good solid place and mgt agent communications were positive. Hard to read the info they send on your cell phone.

Remarkable stay at this spotless, spacious, comfortable home. The kitchen was very well stocked for cooking all sorts of foods, and the espresso machine was a plus. Very quiet, safe neighborhood--gorgeous forested walking trails start just a couple houses away. Large, clean, hot tub was fantastic--spent every evening relaxing in the hot tub. Location central to wide range of local activities. All of the bedrooms were super comfortable with top--of-the-line bedding. Nice quality washer and dryer. Very Highly Recommend!

Very comfortable property - clean and well-equipped, especially the kitchen and bathrooms. We would definitely return. We rented during the summer but think the property would be a very comfortable one to rent during the winter / ski season. The property allows dogs but note that you are not allowed to leave a dog alone on the property, not even in a crate in the garage.

Edelweiss was a delightful and cozy home. There was plenty of space and the house features were high quality. Kitchen and bathrooms were thoughtfully designed. There were plenty of rafts, towels, and beach chairs which helped to enhance my experience. During my stay, I was not able to find a cooler in any of the stores as they were sold out. It would have been helpful to have access to a cooler during the trip. The only downfall was the brand new beds as they were incredibly firm and left us fighting over who got to sleep on the couch. The linens, bedding and pillows were high quality, though. Overall, I would be thrilled to rent Edelweiss again in the future.
